I have been racking my brain looking at the news lately. It seems everywhere we look, it is more and more a surprise and a lot of disappointments. I know in my own life, I was planning to continue school this fall, but God had other plans. I’ll be working full time and then some. At first, I was extremely disappointed in God. It’s a scary thing to be disappointed by someone who I thought would NEVER disappoint. However, I soon realized the cause of my disappointment. I was disappointed in God because my expectation was on Him moving in my ways and in my timing. This is not how He opperates; He gives us more than we could ever imagine, but in His way and in His timing.
“For my thoughts are not your thoughts,
neither are your ways my ways,”
declares the Lord.
9 “As the heavens are higher than the earth,
so are my ways higher than your ways
and my thoughts than your thoughts.
16 I pray that out of his glorious riches he may strengthen you with power through his Spirit in your inner being, 17 so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith. And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, 18 may have power, together with all the Lord’s holy people, to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ, 19 and to know this love that surpasses knowledge—that you may be filled to the measure of all the fullness of God. 20 Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, 21 to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
33 “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
As a lot of you deal with the unexpected in the coming weeks and months, remember that you can always expect the Lord to work everything out for your good and lavish you with His faithful, unending love!
